Remanufacturing Process

Incoming inspection of the used unit to check usability. Full disassembly for initial cleaning. Sandblasting of external metal surfaces and light washing of plastic components. Detailed inspection of all parts with replacement or repair where needed: electronic track, throttle plate, bracket, flap, and duct. Electrical resistance testing. Some components may be replaced with original parts. Common air flow meter issues are often caused by potentiometer wear due to scratches, which alters impedance, leading to power loss, injection cuts, and unstable idling. This issue is corrected during remanufacturing. Each unit is tested on a 205 GTI to ensure functionality. Once successfully tested, the part is stocked and made available for purchase. A typical 205 1.9 engine should idle high (around 2000 RPM) for the first 3-4 minutes when cold, then stabilize slightly above 1000 RPM when warm. Always allow the engine to warm up before driving and drive gently for the first 10-15 km. Under these conditions, you should experience smooth acceleration and deceleration without interruptions, even during sporty driving.

Signs of a Failing Air Flow Meter

If your engine struggles to rev, idles erratically despite proper adjustment, stalls frequently, requires throttle input to maintain idle, or exhibits backfiring, power loss during acceleration, or cutting out at higher RPMs, your air flow meter is likely failing.
